The Blueair Blue Pure 411i Max is a quiet, frugal purifier for a bedroom, nursery or office of up to about 225 square feet. AHAM Verifide rates it at 145 cfm of smoke CADR, almost the same as a Levoit Core 300-P, but Blueair adds a particle sensor, Auto Mode, an app, and a power draw of 2.5 to 20 W. Its 18 dB low setting is lower than the 23 to 24 dB that Levoit and Blueair quote for their other models.
It replaced the original Blue Pure 411, which AHAM lists at only 105 cfm. When we checked on November 3, 2026, Amazon had the single unit out of stock and the two-pack in stock, which is a sensible buy if you have two bedrooms to cover.
Blue Pure 411i Max AHAM figures and room size
The AHAM Verifide directory lists the 411 Max, 411i Max and 411a Max under one rating: 145 cfm for smoke, 163 for dust and 180 for pollen, a PM2.5 CADR of 154, and a suggested room size of 225 sq ft. AHAM estimates 110 kWh a year of energy use, with an integrated energy factor of 8.2. The older models show how much the Max line improved:
| Model | Smoke CADR | Room size |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Pure 411 (original) | 105 cfm | 161 sq ft |
| Blue Pure 411 Auto | 123 cfm | 190 sq ft |
| Blue Pure 411i Max | 145 cfm | 225 sq ft |
| Room | Floor area | Air changes an hour |
|---|---|---|
| Nursery, 10 x 10 ft | 100 sq ft | 10.9 |
| Bedroom, 12 x 14 ft | 168 sq ft | 6.5 |
| AHAM room size | 225 sq ft | 4.8 |
| Living room, 15 x 20 ft | 300 sq ft | 3.6 |
Blueair's own figures agree: about 219 to 225 sq ft every 12.5 minutes, or around 1,050 sq ft at one air change an hour. For a bigger room, step up to the Blue Pure 211i Max.
Noise and energy: where the 411i Max stands out
Blueair's listing gives a range of 18 to 46 dB and says the 411i Max is Quiet Mark certified. In a 12 by 12 ft bedroom, its middle speed already gives more than five air changes an hour, so most people never need the top setting at night. Power is listed as 2.5 to 20 W depending on fan speed, and Blueair says the line was named ENERGY STAR Most Efficient for 2023. Running it all year at AHAM's estimate of 110 kWh costs about $19 at 17.2 cents per kWh, the 2025 US residential average from the EIA.
HEPASilent, ozone and certifications
Like the rest of the Blue Pure Max line, the 411i Max uses HEPASilent, which gives particles an electrostatic charge so a more open filter can catch them. That is why California's Air Resources Board lists the 411i Max and 411a Max as electronic air cleaners, which must stay at or below 0.050 ppm of ozone. Blueair goes further on its listing, citing Intertek verification of zero ozone (under 5 ppb). Our ozone guide explains how those standards differ.
Filter and running cost
The 411i Max takes a single cylindrical filter, the Blue Pure 411i Max replacement (F4MAX), with a thin carbon layer for light household odors, and a washable fabric pre-filter sleeve. Blueair's RealTrack feature in the app estimates filter life at 6 to 9 months depending on use. Blueair's store has listed 411 series filters from $29.99 for Particle + Carbon to $44.99 for AllergenBlock, though both were out of stock when we checked; check that the filter you order names the 411i Max. Genuine replacements are also sold on Amazon.
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Filters, 4 in 36 months | about $120 |
| Electricity, 3 years | about $57 |
| Running cost, 3 years | about $177 |
